A Look at Mayfair Diagnostics Castleridge

Mayfair • Dec 19, 2018

Mayfair Diagnostics Castleridge is conveniently located for medical imaging in the northeast Calgary communities of Castleridge, Martindale, Taradale, Falconridge, Monterey Park, Pineridge, and more. Only 10 minutes from the Peter Lougheed Centre, this clinic has been serving patients in the northeast since 2006.

“We’ve seen a lot of changes since we first opened. Our clinic has doubled in size and gone through many renovations, including changing our name from RCA to Mayfair Diagnostics a few years ago,” says Jennifer Lovasz, Clinic Manager. “Our clinic is large and very busy in a great area. I’m proud of the many ways our team has innovated to put patients first.”

In fact, Castleridge recently renovated their nuclear medicine department, installing new, state-of-the-art technology to improve patient comfort and image quality. The nuclear medicine department was under construction from November 15, 2018, through to January 7, 2019, but the new system is now up and running.

“Our other services were open during construction and it was an interesting challenge serving patients the last few months,” says Shaula Cay, Assistant Clinic Manager. “But, it’s finished now and I think we did a great job accommodating patients and making sure we were still providing the same excellent level of service.”

Located in the northeast corner of Castleridge Plaza, near the intersection of McKnight and Falconridge Boulevards, the clinic is tucked in beside Safeway.  It features the latest technology in X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, image-guided pain therapy and bone density services, including the recent upgrade to a leading-edge nuclear medicine imaging system.

“I think the new nuclear medicine technology is just another way that we can show how dedicated we are to our community and our patients. It’s about taking care of patients and making it easier to serve their diagnostic imaging needs,” says Lovasz.

The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. It serves many patients for whom English is a second language so our diverse team of multilingual employees offers translators to help ensure patient comfort, and explain what’s happening during their exams when needed.

“It’s very important to us that our patients come first. We take the time to focus on each patient and do our very best to accommodate their needs.” Lovasz adds, “They really appreciate our extended hours and we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our patients' family members about how much they appreciate the work of our translators in easing their loved one’s fear and making sure they understand the tests being performed.”
