Obstetrical ultrasounds are performed at various points throughout your pregnancy. They can date your pregnancy, confirm the embryo’s size, and evaluate the ovaries. They can also give your doctor information about the health of your baby, examine your baby from head to toe, and assess the position of the placenta and the amount of amniotic fluid.
We can give you the baby images from your obstetrical ultrasound exams on a complimentary USB, to share with family and friends. Please speak with one of our clinic receptionists for more details.
We do our best to have our radiologists interpret the information and forward the results to your doctor by the next business day. Please consult with your doctor regarding your results and any follow up exams or questions.
Obstetrical exams are covered under your Alberta or Saskatchewan Health Care Plans.
Please bring the following to your appointment: a valid government-issued ID, your provincial health card, and your exam requisition (if you have received one).
If you, or anyone that you know, has experienced pregnancy or infant loss, health organizations in both Alberta and Saskatchewan have a variety of resources that may help during this time.
Please ensure that you bring your requisition with you to your appointment.
