COVID-19 VACCINE AND PAIN MANAGEMENT INJECTIONS
If you are scheduled for a COVID-19 vaccine, please DO NOT delay it due to a pain management injection. Getting the COVID-19 vaccine should take priority over a pain management injection. However, if you have COVD-19 vaccination booked or completed within two weeks PRIOR to your scheduled appointment date or within one week AFTER your schedule appointment date, please call us at 403-777-3122 as your appointment date will need to be changed.
Please contact us at 1-866-611-2665 if you have a confirmed date for your COVID-19 vaccine and are scheduled for one of the following pain management treatments:
- Cervical Epidural (Trans-facet) Injection
- Cervical Facet Injection
- Cortisone (Steroid) Injection
- Epidural Spine Injection
- Nstride Autologous Protein Solution Therapy
- Platelet-Rich Plasma Injection
- Selective Nerve Root Block
- Tendon Calcification Therapy
- Tenotomy or Fasciotomy (Fenestration) Therapy
- Viscosupplement (Hyaluronic Acid) Injection – Cingal injections only
The safety of our patients is very important to us and we believe that receiving the COVID-19 vaccine should take priority over pain management treatment. Our recommendation to delay pain management is based on currently available data and recommendations. Once you have re-booked your appointment, you will need to ensure you follow Mayfair Diagnostics’ health and safety precautions when you attend your appointment.
OTHER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
We ask that if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, or are at risk of having had Novel Coronavirus exposure or any other potential risk of exposure to COVID-19, please schedule your appointment for when you have recovered or have confirmed that you don’t have COVID-19.
If you have returned from another country, we recommend you do not attend a Mayfair clinic for 14 days from your return date, even in the absence of symptoms.
Patients are required to wear surgical-type masks at all times while in our clinics to minimize the potential spread of infection from someone who is infected, and for those who may have COVID-19 before they experience symptoms themselves. If the mask you are wearing when you arrive for your appointment is not a surgical mask, we will provide you with one. If a patient is unable to wear a mask, we will provide a face shield.
When checking in, you will be asked questions about cold or flu-like symptoms and potential risk of COVID-19 exposure. Please visit our Coronavirus Precautions page for a list of questions.
We maintain safe social distancing within our clinics, providing an option for patients to wait outside the clinic after they have checked in for their appointment. We also have isolation areas for patients with symptoms and/or risks of exposure.
If you are wearing a surgical-type mask, please maintain a physical distance of at least one metre from others while in the clinic. Patients unable to wear a surgical-type mask will need to maintain a physical distance of at least two metres from others while in the clinic. We are limiting admittance of individuals to our clinics and ask that only the patient attend the appointment.
The waiting rooms during this time are for patients only, with the following exception:
- If you have mobility issues, your companion will be allowed to accompany you during the registration process. They will then be required to leave the clinic and wait for you outside the
- clinic, until after the exam is complete.
