THREE THINGS TO REMEMBER AFTER REQUESTING AN APPOINTMENT

Mayfair Diagnostics has 13 medical imaging clinics across Calgary, plus one each in Cochrane, Saskatoon, and Regina. Our Customer Contact Centre handles the majority of our appointment bookings, which can be made by telephone, via email, or through an online appointment request widget on our website.

REMEMBER TO CLICK THE SECURE LINK

When you are booking an appointment over the phone or requesting an appointment online, you will be asked to provide an email address and/or mobile phone number. If you do, a confirmation of your appointment and reminder messages will be sent to your email and/or phone. These notifications will include the date, time, and location of your appointment, as well as a suggested arrival time and other pertinent information.

Most importantly these messages will include a secure link to the preparation instructions for your exam.

You will need to click the link in the email or text message. This will take you to a secure site.

You will then need to click the “Get started” button and then enter your provincial health card to confirm your identity. Once that’s done you will receive a link to your specific exam preparation instructions.

Please note that this link expires after eight days. Each reminder email and text message will include a new secure link for you to access your preparation instructions prior to your appointment. You should receive reminders both seven days and two days prior to your appointment, depending on how far out your appointment was booked.

IT TAKES 1-3 BUSINESS DAYS TO PROCESS AN ONLINE REQUEST

Mayfair Diagnostics offers an online appointment request widget on our website, in the bottom righthand corner. When you click on this button you will be invited to “Get started” with Maya, the Mayfair Diagnostics digital booking assistant (chatbot). Maya’s job is to collect the necessary information to book, reschedule, or cancel an appointment. She can be accessed from any device, from anywhere, and is designed to be mobile friendly.

Once submitted, your request details will need to be reviewed by our Customer Contact Centre booking team. WITHIN 1-3 BUSINESS DAYS, someone from our booking team will respond to your request (via email, text, and/or phone). If the appointment is urgent or cannot wait the 1-3 business days, please call our Contact Centre at 1-866-611-2665 to book your appointment.

WHY PERSONAL INFORMATION IS NEEDED AND HOW IT’S PROTECTED

Every imaging company is required by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) to confirm the identity of each patient for every appointment (not just the first one) This is why we ask you to provide photo identification and your provincial health card at every visit, and why you will be asked for your health card number and birthdate when booking over the phone or online. Your health card is used to confirm your identity and to ensure you are covered under a provincial health insurance plan. We also check that your health records match the records we have on file.

All information, even that entered online, is protected by several layers of security and is only used when required to support health services provided within the circle of care or other specific authorized purposes. Please refer to Mayfair’s privacy policy for more information about how your personal information is protected.

As described previously, your email and text message confirmations will have an added layer of security by including a secure link to the preparation instructions for your exam. This is done to ensure that we have confirmed that it’s the patient who is receives specific exam information.
